LBA Kaunas Academy is proud to feature Levan Japaridze, an accomplished basketball professional with extensive experience in coaching, scouting, program management, and player development. Known for his strategic vision and commitment to nurturing talent, Levan has successfully helped over 40 players transition to professional careers in European and U.S. basketball leagues.

HEAD COACH

Edas Nickus had a distinguished coaching career, notable for his significant contributions to both Lithuanian basketball and player development. His tenure as a coach began in the 1980s, where he quickly rose to prominence, leading Kaunas “Atletas” to a Lithuanian championship title in 1982. During his time with “Atletas,” Nickus mentored several future basketball stars who would go on to achieve international recognition .

ASSISTANT COACH & SCOUT

Tevdore Tavgorashvili is an assistant coach and scout at LBA Kaunas Academy, specializing in player development and talent identification. With a keen eye for emerging basketball talent, he works closely with athletes to refine their skills and prepare them for higher levels of competition.Beyond coaching and scouting, Tevdore is actively involved in recruiting players for professional and semi-professional teams. His extensive network and deep understanding of the game allow him to connect talented players with the right opportunities, helping both athletes and teams succeed.

LBA Kaunas Academy is proud to feature Ahmet Can Özkan, an accomplished basketball professional with extensive experience in coaching, scouting, and program management. With a career spanning across Turkey, the Czech Republic, and Europe, Ahmet has become a key figure in identifying talent and organizing impactful basketball programs.

Dr. Naeimeh Zafar is a FIBA-certified professional basketball coach with extensive experience coaching national teams in Qatar, Oman, and Iran. A graduate coach of the EuroLeague Academy, she also holds a PhD in sports biomechanics.she is dedicated to developing young talent through coaching clinics, camps, and academies.
